The aircraft skidded to a halt, and the crew escaped with two serious injuries. The aircraft did not catch fire and was salvaged for parts.

Transferred on December 9, 1944, returning to the group on January 7,1945. Returned to the USA on June 7, 1945. 42-51661 (725th) Left the USA on August 17, 1944. Assigned to the group on September 20, 1944, to replace 41-29256. Lost on a non-operational accident on October 14, 1944. Sixteen men were killed when the aircraft crashed into a hillside near Rochetta, Italy.
